Can someone point me in the right direction to learn how to testure segments and entities. I am sure you do it in the segment and entity editors but what do you save the texture images to? Like if I take a jpg image to use as a texture what do I turn it into for FPSC. Also how do you keep it from looking repeated on your walls?

I want to take a stock segment and re-texture the outside so it looks like an old wood building and I also want to do the inside in some sort of old rustic look. I did a search and couldn't really find what I was looking for, also checked NickyDude's book. That shows how to do it with a stock texture, I want to use my own.

Hey Dragon slayer
Here are the texture formats.

I like to use the Entity Workshop for simple/intermediate entities.
http://www.wehtam.co.uk/entityworkshop/

Blender is also a free/easy way to texture. Example, for a cube go into edit mode, face select mode, select the face you want to texture, open uv/image editor in one of the windows, open texture,scale-rotate-move the uv in the uv/image editor window with S-R-G.
Note: .dds is Fpsc favorite.

OK I have been playing around with firma segment editor and it pretty much does what I want. I may try FPSC segment editor as I think you can apply shaders and bump maps to the textures.

What I am trying to figure out is how do I apply my own textures without the tiling effects where you see a repeat of the texture each segment. The textures that came with firma work fine but as soon as I try one of my own they look horrible. I have tried some seamless texture tutorials and either they didn't work right or I wasn't getting it.

There has to be an easy way to make a texture seamless without a lot of hassle!

theres lots of apps on the internet that make seamless textures for you. But the one I think is best is this one:
