Could be that it doesn't have the proper read / write rights to delete the old temporary exe file.

Odd, I had that very issue a few days ago. I could add code in, it would compile but seemed to ignore the code. I also tried saving the code, sending it to my second machine and trying it on the original paid for DB version I normally use. The code didn't appear in the text at all! Very odd and most annoying. Only way I got the machine to work again was wiping it and reinstalling from scratch
So it could be a bug in the free version. I have never had the original do that, it only managed to eat my code completely, leaving me with a blank screen.
The code was starting to get reasonably big, about 2500 lines or so at the time. Since I wiped and reinstalled and copied my projects back it seems ok.

I've had very similar problems with the new editor which I've reported on the Upgrade U7.5 thread. There are at least two reasons why this can happen:

1. the exe file names are similar and have spaces, e.g. "myProg v1.exe" and "myProg v2.exe" (I think the latest beta fixes that issue);

2. the editor doesn't always save the new code before compiling - so it compiles and runs the old code (not sure of the precise conditions that happens or whether it's been fixed).

I haven't tried that. If I get time I'll give it a go and report back.

Have you checked which folder the resulting project is called and which folder it is in? I find the only safe way is to make sure that the project is saved with a suitable name in the right folder.

I use custom folder and double click on both dba and dbpro files opens blank editor.I think the name is suitable, it`s one word not separated with spaces or special symbols.The bak file is in the same folder.

Why are you only loading a .dba file into the editor? DBPro is project-based and most of the time the IDE should have a .dbpro file to make sense of things. If it doesn't have a .dbpro I believe it makes a temp.exe in your DBPro (or windows?) TEMP folder. Not very helpful.

My advice is to keep doing that.

Double click on *.dba file + opening the same file from the editor(because double click actually just open`s blank editor)
with this sample code i download from the forum :

Make the editor crash?Why is that?
I believe that any code can produce same error, if you do the same like me.

Works fine for me. Perhaps you need to change one of the default editor settings from the Tools menu? (I tried to reproduce your problem by changing the settings but failed - it always opened the dba file correctly.)

Edit I'm using the latest beta U7.5b8c. Which version are you using?
