I look at screenies from Kravenwolf and others and their grafix are just unbelievable along with the lighting. What do I have to change for it to look like that! My computer isn't even that bad...

Plus the lightmap quality may have something to do with it.

Go into your setup.ini file. Find lightmapquality= and change it to a higher number. I usually use 35.

turn on AA and AF to 16x
turn lightmap tex size and quality to incredibly high
add detail to your level designs and spend time on them (I spend about 8 hours in total in each room)

Thank you shadow troid, I was having a similar problem and I think that that fixed it. I also changed the resolution and aspect ratio to match my screen size.

It's about editing the textures. Sometimes they can look realistic, others seem like they've just been drenched in ink splodges. You don't exactly need a new PC, it's the way the textures are displayed and the lighting quality which gives stunning graphics, not just shaders (I use FPSC x10 which should have top-notch shaders but I never use them xD and my levels still look good).

@Bigsnake

Some people spend days on just small little sections. So 8 hours is undercutting it. If the section is done right, After detailing etc. You can spend minimum of 10 to 15 hours on a small section. You wouldint think so but it happens more often then not.

Talent hasn' t anything to do with your computer... graphics are artworks...some can..others don' t.

I totally agree, unixfreak. it used to be I'd spend more, but i've got my style of level design down to a science.

Dont know where you heard that, usually takes a render farm to produce these, do you have any idea how much processing is in one frame for these scenes at the kind of resolution required.
Take a look at the mile long credits for 3d production, what guy in particular?

$ 300 million U.S. dollars movie costs for computer generated animated special effects and principal photography
$ 200 million U.S. dollars for promotion advertising and distribution in multiplexes theaters cineplexes

$ 500 million U.S. dollars grand total film movie production budget

That crappy laptop sure did cost a lot.
