I am interested as someone who would like to learn real c++ code in a graphical environment. I find that it isn't clear from http://gdk.thegamecreators.com/ how much c++ is involved in Dark GDK. How would an experienced user describe this relationship with c++. Is it pure c++ code? Is it a variation on c++? or does it call upon functions and libraries written in c++ which the newcomer is not exposed to but can if they want? or is there a relationship with the dark basic language is this more of a supporting scripting language?

You use C++ completely. DarkGDK isn't a programming language, it's a game system written in and for C++.

It is still C++, it just lets you use DarkBASIC commands as functions in C++.
