when was this? I'm currently learning directX so I can work more in depth with sprites. If this eases the load, that would be awosome!

Yes - Dark Sprites is still progressing nicely - it's not been abandoned or anything.

I originally posted it on here purely for feedback on being used on other machines. However, as I didn't get a single comment on it for a full week after posting a download to the 3D grabbing version, it was obvious that the thread wasn't fulfilling it's purpose so I removed it.

It might not have been the case, but I got the impression that if it was being downloaded and used, whoever did so wasn't really returning the favour by helping me out with feedback.

If anyone is serious about being an official beta tester (when it's ready) then drop me an email.

Is there a description of what Dark Sprites is about / will "do" ?

I can't seem to find any info on it on the web site linked or anything.. I'm just curious to know what the goal of the project is, what it will do, etc..

Is it going to be a tool to help the artistically retarded (like myself) who couldn't sprite their way out of a paper bag, make real unique sprites? (some kind of template system with customizable "pieces" ??)

Would really like to know what its about.. then maybe I could help out with testing if appropriate?
