What's this "inde" you keep mentioning? Is it some kind of company, or can you just not spell "indie"?

It obviously isn't a one off typo, being as you've said "inde" 10 times and "indie" 0 times.

Also, I recommend changing the DirectX 9 link on your website to this one. That's the correct installer for DirectX.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because of the forum's stupidly tiny restrictions, along with other things such as lack of automatic image resizing, and lack of embedding videos.

TheCoolGuy, yes you get 80%

"Inde" is short for Independent as in "Independent Game Developer". People always misspell it as Indie and try to make it a separate word when in fact it is a shortened version of another word. I prefer to call what makes the most sense. I have no idea what Indie is a shortened version of. I am 45 yrs old and have been playing games and on the net before the net had pictures. I have watched the evolution of the word. It was spelled wrong once or twice somewhere and people kept spelling it that way. I never did understand why. Thanks for noticing though.

the directx link is a link to the 9c redist and not the latest version. Not all machines are x10 ready so i made the redist available for them.

Sounds like a very fair deal to me. Do you sell them for higher prices if they are better quality? Or is every price equal?

The one I linked to installs the full lot, I don't really think the redist ever worked for me.

EDIT: If you would like to sell it on your website, let me know. I'm sure we can work something out via email.

incense: you really should use Indie instead of Inde. Indie is the common game industry term for an independent developer while Inde is your own home made term.

And while it might not be any proof try googling "Inde developer" and then "Indie developer" (include quotation marks) and see the massive difference in relevant results on the latter search.

Indie is simply the popular term for Independent and it originates from the music scene. It has nothing to do with a spelling error

just my two cents.

Kravenwolf, I walked though Training Ground it was a really good idea. I tried it with others and everyone got stuck on the "Waiting to join" screen. That is something we have been fighting with in FPSC for as long as I have been using it. There was a VPN client that some people used that worked really well for that. I can't remember the name of it. Nice work though.

Scurvy Lobster, Google came after the term hit the seen and I know where it originated as I used to be in the music business in the early 80s into the early 90s. Started as a garage band an then got into parties and then clubs. There is only one "I" in the word "Independent". so where did the other "I" come from? Thanks for you input. I value your opinion.

I know the accepted use but based on the word it came form it makes no sense.

The only reason is probably that it is easier to pronounce and more distinct to say indie over inde. The expression goes back quite a while since Indie Pop is from the 1980's. It might be older than that but I can't think of examples.

The the benefit of those that would be concerned I will use the term "IGDC". It means Independent Game Design Community.

@ Scurvy Lobster

who cares if he says inde? We all know what it means. All he is doing is trying to help the community. Believe it our not, your distracting him. So how bout you shut your mouth and leave this guy alone.

@ Incense

I decided to add a prologue to the multiplayer through the single player, so it will take longer to get the game to you.

the only thing i could find on inde is that its a small river in Belgium and Germany, left tributary of the Rur.

i dont mind anyone using it so dont flame me for commenting but i do think indie would be the better use.

Sniper Studios, I appreciate your coming to my defense. I think that kind polite responses are he best route. I certainly don't want to this thread to be locked. As for your game that is fine I await your submission with anticipation.

Gizmoguy, As I stated Google came onto the scene long after the word did and therefore it has only the most modern search results for it. Also the site is a WIP. I am doing everything all at once all by myself including making games. I also have a full time job and a home business that takes a lot of my time. Thanks for the post on the matters though.

Scurvy Lobster, I am not sure why your concerned about the words that others choose to use. "IGDC" is just letters, that all. No biggie. Since I coined it I can pretty much use it where I like. If it catches on then great. If not then that's ok to. Thanks for the post. Have a great day.

Do a little write up on it and get a good screenie. Send them to me and I will post them. give me a price to put on it.

sitdusa, got your email and played the demo. It reminded me of the the old DOS based games like doom and zelda. Most awesome! Would love t post it on the site. Will need a write up and a screenie and of course the game file. Tell me what you want to sell it for and I will set it up in the web store.

What do you think?

Alright Incense, how does $5 sound for ATO? I'll get a good screen and write-up. And don't worry if ATO seems low quality, I've just got another project right now called Rads(link in signature if you want to check it out ) that I'm working on, so I can't spend too much time on other games After Rads is done I'll make significantly better games.

sitdusa, Yes a story line and a screen shot and even a you tube video link if you like. I would prefer however that the price be in even dollar increments as that is the theme of the site. Please bare in mind that there are games on store shelves that have multiple levels and good game play that sell for 10.00. I recommend a 7.00 price tag and a detailed write up so that people know just what they are getting.

le shorte, The price seems ok. I can post your game. I will need a write up and screenies and a video link if you like.

I look forward to posting your games.

Here's my problem with this.He obviously can't spell, neither( apparently) can he attempt to make his own game.

So, he's going to try to buy the rights to yours, use the same media outlets that you yourself could use to distribute it....and try to make money off your hard work.

Let's put it this way.Say you work at a factory. You get done with your 8 hours of work. Some guy comes up and offers you $25 to take your pay for the day...even though he didn't earn it himself.

Does that sound like a deal to any of you?

Wow...troll? So he has typos, that makes him buying a game a bad deal? And so what if he doesn't make games. He's a publisher. Valve didn't make CS, only the engine. CS was a mod. I don't see you complaining to Valve for not making CS

The factory metaphor doesn't work. Most people wouldn't be able to sell FPSC games on their own. They make them for free, and are bought for a price.

wrapscallion, Please re-read my original post. the offer had been changed long before you posted your opinion. I am no longer buying games I am selling them on my web store for 20% of the sales. If the games don't sell I don't get paid. The three games that are there now are games that I have made. I will not be selling games through the standard outlets. I am doing all the footwork to get people to my site so that game makers stand a better chance of selling games.

That is all I am doing.

Taking into consideration what I have just said:

Your statement about my grammar is a flame and that is not allowed on the forums and it is an ill fated attempted to make me look stupid. If your going to pick that to hit me with then you might want to look around the forums. There are typos abound.

As for your statement about buying the rights to games. I'm not buying any rights. The owners of the games own them 100% forever or until they sell them to whomever.

Your factory analogy is incorrect because I don't take anything. I only get something if the game maker does. If they don't get anything then neither do I.

Truth be told, none of what you have said holds any water.

Please feel free to post constructively, however it would be greatly appreciated if the common cutesy rule were observed. Ty and have great day.

I've sent you a total of two emails, are you planning on getting back to me? You've said you've played Pioneering in this thread - my email address is in my signature (if that's still an issue - it shouldn't be, I emailed you again as per your request). I'm not trying to be sarcastic or mean spirited but if you want to distribute my title I think I can reasonably expect a reply?
