Hi all, basically im programming a model viewer and the problem im having at the moment is when i load an object from my programs menu it loads the object but its not in the center of the screen, different objects come up in different places baised on there positions when they are saved.

My question is, can you program darkbasic to change an object to darkbasics 0,0,0 coordinates rather than keeping its own?, if that makes sence?.

Thanks.

autocam off will fix your problem.

the object does appear at 0,0,0; but the camera is being automatically repositioned.

Sorry i should of worded it better, what i meen is the objects pivot, if an object is modelled at say coords 100,0,0, then it will appear further to the right when loaded into darkbasic, even with autocam off.

Try positioning the camera nearby the object limb zero (means limb number 0 of the object) position instead of the object position.

ex. x#=limb position x(objnum,0) etc.

As a rule, though, for me I have all sorts of problems with collision and such if I don't get my pivots pretty spot on centre. The only time I save any objects off the pivot centre is if I want to auto place scenery in a location.

Not at my home pc now... Check in the help for a "pivot" command. It's either "set pivot" or "object pivot" or something like that. It may be under limb.... I think that's what you are looking for.

The fastest code is the code never written.

I model all my models in 0,0,0 coords to avoid this kind of problems.

If you want to keep that, i think Hawk or Scorpyo solutions can work
