I've been testing various U75betas today and noticed that on my laptop the exe files for one particular project are about 4.8 Mb in size but only 4 Mb on my PC - both using U75beta10 and with the same compiler setup.ini file.

Any ideas what might be the cause?

Have they got the same contents in the plugins, plugins-user and plugins-licensed directories?

Or if you want to zip up both exe's and send them to me, I can tell you what each one contains too.

Thanks. I'll sort out a simple example tomorrow morning and send it to you. The plugins folders probably are different - I'll check those details at the same time.

The difference between the two appears to be due to the memblock plug-in being pulled in my my memory bank plug-in. The memblock plug-in in turn appears to pull in the sound plug-in. Those two extra plug-ins make up the difference in your final exe size.

This has been caused by global changes in my last release when I changed the initialisation code to common code for all of my plug-ins, and didn't read what I was replacing correctly.

I'll change it for the next release, but in the meantime, it'll have no effect other than the size increase.

Weird. I wonder why those were involved at all? I think the commands I used from you plugins were max, min, and make object plane.

Anyway, thanks for the explanation. I'll keep a lookout for the next release - and install it on both machines at the same time.

MAKE OBJECT PLANE is part of Matrix1Util_18 and that allows you to build an object from a DBO held within a bank. I'll see if there's a way to break that dependency too.
