Got my two new computers today - and very nice they are too. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I didn't backup all my web site stuff, my web site will be changing slightly.

What? Two? Let me guess, you won the lottery?

Hmm - depends on your point of view - these are my personal systems so they wont be making an appearing at the Conference - unless I bring a photo of them...

Whilst they're not absolute top of the line, its pretty close :

AMD 3000+
1Gb DDR2700 RAM
256Gb Hard Drive
GeForceFX 5600 256Mb
nForce Chipset (SATA etc)
TFT monitor
and all the usual gubbins you get.

I've listed the conference computer spec (more or less) in the DBPro section.

The downside to this is that I've lost all my e-mails (Outlook refusing to re-import them - sounds like the export routine didn't export everything), and I'm having to re-do more on my site that I wanted.

On the plus side, I've got all my plug-ins code, test code etc...

If you've still got a copy of the directory they were in, you don't need to export/import, just copy the original files over.

I supposed you were forced into buying TFT monitors, just to save space for 2 PCs, huh?

Must admit I haven't tried copying the files back - although I dont really need the old ones now. I do need to find my address book .WAB file - athough which of the many CD's it could be on is a mystery.

As for the TFT - I've been wanting to see what they're like for a while so, so I thought - why not ?

I do wish companies wouldn't put the recovery CD files on a bootable hidden partition - I removed it and had to re-install everything (again). But it's all up and running (again) - I just need to re-link all my web site links now and then I'm back to more or less where I was before.
