FPSC Classic Product Chat / User don't die if he falls off the map

I didn't had this problem before. But today, when the user falls off the map he don't die, so he stucks there and can't play the game further. Please Help.

I am using FPSC 1.15.003 with project blue 1.7

(haven't upgraded to 8 cuz 1.7 is stable, will upgrade when it becomes stable too)

Help!

What are the hurtfall values in the player spawn marker?

The hurtfall value is 200 and Health is 200 too. But he still falls and he don't die, he keeps falling.

lol, it happens to me too with horror mod. as lons as your game wont be in space, dont care it too much...

Thanks Kainka, at least you are on topic.

So, Is there nothing we can do to prevent this? to make the player die when he falls off the map?

Is there a way so that the action that starts when we press * to do execute the same action when the player falls off the map? In PB, If you press * you will be taken to the start marker.

You could simple cage the whole playing area into a killzone.

Thinking of it you could even trigger a special death sound, a hud or even a short clip with it as a bonus

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

make a hurtzone covering the entire layer 0.

Come to think of it, your player shouldnt be able to fall of the edge of the map. its a much better thing if he doesnt.

Whyy is he?
in a game like TF2 for example, you dont fall off the side of the map and view it like its a floating platform.

Block off all ways for a person to get into non-playable spots. wether you use the invisible wall, or patch it together with something else, just make it so the player cant escape the boundaries of the zone that is supposed to be played.

I totally agree! I wanted the player not to fall off the map, but it was very time taking and difficult to do so, even I don't know how. So I thought it is easier and faster if he dies or transported to the startmarker.

Well, the problem is - I have already done what you said TiTaniUm, my game is a in-door game, so, everything is packed and no one is even able to see the sky. All the edge is covered with walls.

The player don't fall from the edge of the level. He sometimes collides with a chair or table and suddenly drops through the floor with sound like aah ahh and finally aghh, lol. But the player don't fall in my PC, I have a quite good configuration with 2GB ram, Core2Quad and 1GB NVIDIA. He falls through the floor in my friends PC which don't have graphic card. I want my game to be widely playable so I have to care about what it looks like in all the computers.

Is there a way to prevent player fall through the floor?

PS. I will try the triggerzone technique and edit my post if it works. I will script it to teleport the player to start marker whenever he enters it. And btw, do any of you know the command to teleport the player to start point, the one that * use?

ha you checked the preferences make sure the automatic floor box isnt checked
