i have tried the winzip exe and that starts extracting stuff them stops and does nothing, i have tried extracting the contents of the winzip exe to dbpro folder and running the update exe from there but that still doesn't work... i have dx9.0b installed....

this upgrade is really really frustating, if anyone can suggest anything i could try or point out what im doing wrong i would be most gratefull!

If you can't extract the update program then one of three things has happened.

1) The downloaded file was corrupted somehow - try to download again.
2) Winzip itself has become corrupted - reinstall it.
3) Your file system has a problem - run scandisk on your hard drive.

Give some of these a go and let us know how you get on

no no sorry maybe i wasn't clear, i can extract the update program, its the update prog that doesn't work, i double click it, it starts then instantly stops and does nothing!!!!

the updater doesn't work for me either.. even if i install to the default directory, it doesn't work. and i don't see what would be so terrible about letting us decide where it should install the patch to.
