HI, I have been playing around with DBpro for a little while and I seem to be having a few problems with lights. I have made a light and coloured it green, when I position in within the world everything it reflects onto glows white and not green. Is there something I am doing wrong? I am using this code here, nice and simple.

I cannot see how this could go wrong, but for some reason it is.

You are forgetting about the main light - light 0.

Either turn it off, or do what you are trying to do with light 1 using light 0.

I have turned light 0 off but everything is still reflecting white, I did also try to do it using light 0 and instead the whole place is lit up green, all i am after is a small area lit bright green in the corner of a dark room, but everything I try ends up reflecting white or lighting the whole room green.

I would check where you placed your objects in relation to where the light is located. This quick example shows the green on the side of the cubes. Use the arrow keys to move around.

I have turned off ambient light but the light i am creating just isn't reacting how it should... well how i believe it should anyway, i hope i'm not being too condescending but this is what i mean.

there are walls to the area, but i've turned the ambient light to 0 and the only "light is the green light but as you can see it's just reflecting white on the switch on the wall and nothing else except a small area on the floor, the light itself is placed just infront of the switch and at about the same level, i've tried moving it around but all to no success

Maybe it has to do with object normals and verticies. Are you using your own object? DBPro primatives? The DBPro cubes, boxes and plains do not properly reflect light, they only reflect it off of or more one of 4 corners, since DBPro uses a vertex lighting system. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

You could try making your own objects with more verticies, or maybe the "SET OBJECT NORMALS" command can help (normals can have a lot to do with lighting). I believe with one of IanM's plugins there is an alternate MAKE OBJECT PLAIN command that lets you make a plain with more verticies, and the MAKE OBJECT SPHERE command optionally lets you do so.
