I need to write a program that utilizes a PCMCIA 4 port serial card. I have seen some threads about a plugin by CattleRustler, but I am not sure his plugin will work with multiple ports at once. Does anyone have a solution?

CR's DLL doesn't support more than 1 port at a time.

You might be best to go ahead and write one. If you don't know C++, there's a tutorial I wrote on how to make DLLs with C#.Net, which would also work for VB.Net.

I've used CR's plugin for ages and it has been very stable for me. I looked at the instructions and it does say "any or all com ports on the host PC simultaneously" but I have never tried using more than one at once.

DBP's "net connect" or whatever it's called for connecting to a network has the ability to do serial connections (well, at least one). The only problem is that there is no documentation on what to put into the string for the serial connection. I have also found some .dll's that loop promising, but I was hoping someone knew with specificity how to go about this.

The built in stuff is based on DirectPlay then, which might help you find what to put in there, but I suspect you would be better off with CR's DLL.
