I'm having some really nasty lighting problems, which I just can't work out by myself. Lights in my levels are unrealistic, or are still dull, despite being next to a light source. My question is; how would I use specular maps in FPSC? If specular maps will make little difference, then what can I do to fix my lighting?

Thanks~

I know that you can use illumination maps for lights to make them appear lit without placing a light near it. Although I'm not sure sure how to make them. Only know how to amateurishly apply them XD

Use less range on the light and then place one almost black light that has a bigger radius to soften up the shadows.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I have already tried illumination maps, but somehow my lights become completely white, when a light source is near
