I have a few questions about 1.17 and I thought some other people might too.

My questions:
-When will it come out
-Will it rase the system requierments?

Thanks!

Who the hell is General Failure? And why is he trying to read my hard disk?

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.

1) As soon as it's done.
2) Yes, since it'll require a decent graphics card to handle the shaders, and probably some more RAM and a better Proccessor as well.

I'm sure any processor above 2.5 ghz, ram above 1 gb, and graphics card above a 6200 will be able to handle it fine.

Not if you want to run the new shader effects. Consider a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia or ATI in the $100-ish range, should give you all the graphics power you need for a good FPSC experience, especially for the 1.17 update.

Also ,make sure it's a RECENT graphics card. Your $100 dollar graphics card from 2006 isn't going to cut it. Or your Playstation 2-era computer isn't going to cut it either. No Intel media accelerators, no integrated graphics chips. A dedicated graphics card is what you need.

Contrary to some beliefs, you absolutely DO NOT need some high end supercomputer to run FPSC shaders at good frame rates. You just need a midrange CPU and midrange dedicated graphics card from the last couple of years, and that will be more than enough to handle the new effects from 1.17.

what graphics card do you have? we need to know that. processor and RAM are fine, but if you don't have a good gfx card, you won't be running FPSC very fast

are my 2 9800gt cards good enough? (sli) and my 3.0 ghz dual core?

it runs x10 slow so i don't know...

Those will be PLENTY fast for 1.17, even a single 9800GT will be fine. Those were released in 2008, and are still pretty new, and were near the top of the range to begin with. Now, the lower range 9300 and 9400 might have some trouble.

See my post above. Any integrated chipsets are going to be SLOWWW. You need dedicated graphics. Those integrated chips are meant to speed up things like video playback, not really meant for 3D.

is there any way to speed that up? FPSC X9 1.16 runs like a charm though.

By getting a graphics card. FPSC v1.16 doesn't use any fancy shaders by default, so pretty much any graphics device can run it. They're very cheap now anyways, I mean I got an EAH5770 for €100,-.. Runs everything I need maxed out.(I know, I once said I'd NEVER NEVER NEVER get an ATI card, but it was this or spend a week without a Graphics card And I kinda started to love it.. Although the drivers that came with it crash on everything 3D.)

i am stuck with Intel media accelerator....because laptop can't be upgraded

but it run 1.16 version very well

so if we disable shader option in 1.17...and test the game will it run smooth

if so then at the time of building game you can select the shader
option ...and now check that game in your friends computer

if it work that ways ...ends up saving me lots of money

Ok, I'm just gunna say what I've been thinking the whole time I read this thread :

Wait and we will found out everything about it, I'm sure it will require higher specs also cause of the new shaders being put in

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.
