This is a fairly simple tool, designed to allow a developer to create a launch screen for their FPSC game. It is being coded in Visual Basic 2010 Express (I may release the source code to allow for even more customization) One of the goals for this, is to allow for the main Setup.ini config included with the FPSC Engine to work with Games made using the FPSC Engine. For those who have not noticed, in current, they are not compatible. This will be a free tool, for Commercial or Non-Commercial projects. Now to business.

What this tool will have:
It will allow for an Options menu, outside of the game (The options will be based on the default FPSC game settings).
Freely positional buttons and images for a fully customized launch screen.
It will allow for music to play while the launcher is open.
The ability to set an icon for your Launcher

What this tool may have (Still concepts):
Splash Screens before your game starts
A video to play before your title screen
Allowing for a .PNG file to be imported and converted to an Icon.
Possibly an Icon editor

Screen Shots:

This is what the options menu will look like

More to come! Give feedback and any ideas you come up with that may be useful. Progress may be slow, as I still have school work etc. I'll see if I can get a team together to help progress.

Awesome! Finally a decent launcher Good work. Try adding things like 'Resolutionscroll down menu)', and... and... well, I had an idea a long time ago Hopefully I'll remember it soon. Good luck with this!

Thanks

I have looked into a way of being able to change the resolution, but the section of the Ini file that contains the data for the resolution is the GameDebug section. But I'll need to run some tests to see if I can get it working.. I may even need to get the source for FPSC so I can make it compatible. As I always say, where there's a will there's a way.

Edit- Added Icon features and concepts

Finally! A game launcher with options! Looks great!
BTW: Isn't this in the wrong board?

I'm not really sure if it's the right board or not. It said 'Post your screen shots, maps, web sites and other cool FPSC related things here' so I thought it was the right place. If not could a mod move it?
On other matters, I'll need the community's help and support. I'm not talking about donations, because I don't really need money. What I do need is for people who know exactly what the fields in the Setup.ini are for. Majority of them, I already know but there are some I do not. They are:
vrmode
vrmodemag
producelogfiles
hsrmode
optimizemode

The field aspectratio I know what it means, but I'm not 100% of what part of the engine this applies to. Help with these would be great thanks

Vrmode is for 3D glasses I think.
Producelogfiles makes a log on details like framerate, crashes and stuff.

Thats what I know.

Thanks! I'm hoping this will end up being able to get to almost as customizable as possible. I'm even thinking of creating a whole scripting system for it. But that's still a concept. Anyways, here's a new screenshot of the options:

It's still a bit empty, but it's still in a quite early stage.
For now I'm mainly going to be posting updates on the options section, considering it'll probably be the most useful to people.
Also, so everyone knows, this is kind of a learning project as well, so there will be bugs etc in almost every version I release, but I'll try make it as well as possible

This is coming along nicely.

There aren't too many launchers out there for FPSC and certainly not with a really comprehensive list of options.

Keep up the good work

Nice, when will it be released?

Who the hell is General Failure? And why is he trying to read my hard disk?

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.

I'm not sure when it'll be released. There is still quite a few things to be added, but they shouldn't take too long. The code for this is actually really simple.
Oh, yea I have an essay to write this week, so progress will probably be slower than normal.

I just thought I'd post a quick screenshot for the basis of a designer. This doesn't make the designer confirmed, but it gives you an idea of what it'll look like:

Sorry for Double-Double post, but BIG Update.
I decided to release a VERY Early Beta. Most functions are in-active for the moment, but you are able to see how the editor will work. It should be fairly straight forward. The link is attached.

It would be a nice feature to add presets.

1. Slow Compter - turn off features such as shaders,
Textures scale, etc
2. Mid Grade Computer - More Features turned on

3. Super Computer - All features turned on to maximize.

But, be more creative besides just calling it slow call
it(speed impaired maybe).

Just a thought, lots of fpsc users can tell you what type
computer they have and the best setup for that level of
computer.

Looking good ...

Well, I have plenty of time. That is, if I don't end up in hospital or something along those lines well I'm working on it.

Edit - Almost finished the configuration part. Maybe 10 minutes coding left.

I didn't know Nickydude knew how to program

@RoxasXIII, this looks great! I do have a question though. I've noticed with some other launchers people have used, there are two .exes in the game folder. One to launch the game with the launcher, and the original .exe that is still there. Both of them still work. Will this get replace the original .exe, or will there still be two in the game folder?

Well, it will most likely be a separate EXE because some users may still want to launch it directly. But I may be able to make it one EXE. It will just take a little more time.
