Your best bang for the buck upgrade as far as FPSC goes would be to upgrade the graphics card. That low end Geforce won't cut it, especially since shaders are now becoming the de-facto preference for FPSC.

A 9800GT is still a helluva card to buy for $89.00: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500113&cm_re=Nvidia_9800_GT-_-14-500-113-_-Product

Or an ATI Radeon HD-series equivalent would be good as well. If you go ATI don't buy anything less than the HD-series.
