Hi @ all

I currently work on a small gfx demo made with DBPro but I'm really bad at modelling so I want to ask you if there's somebody out there who maybe have already or can model me an Apollo Spacerocket and a Launchpad for the rocket? 2 seperate one's for adding to the demo. Maybe someone can help me out

Thanks
Hubdule

current polycount stands at 1404 guess its going to get 1500 if thats okay ill leave it at that. Otherwise ill put it through some of lightwaves reduction routines.

wow ! cool pic .. that was fast
1500 polys is ok ... even some more won't hurt ...
you don't need to animate it,thanks, I'll write some special code to simulate that As far as I can see this will be getting really cool !

lol... thats what Norton does to any accounts that i use Outlook for, i get the email but it stops me for downloading the attachements - or rather quarenteens them all. Somehow I doubt, Eidosnet, Hotmail, iBusinessHost and Lycos all have viruses
Bloody awkard thou, only other accounts i have is my msn one which holds almost nothing (10mb box with 1.5mb email size ... but full everyday ) or my AOL account which has unlimited both box and filesize, but i don't like anyone actually having that. (sorry but kinda like ONE private email address)

well heres the textured rocket. I know i know the texture isnt the exact apollo 11 texture but hopefully most people dont have picture perfect memorys

fins to do then a quick fiddle with the launch bay. there should be structs holding the rocket in place for launch really. But that would mean lots of animation so best use artistic licsence

lol... well i'd add two/three things to that
another layer of plates with bolts (doesn't have to be highres) ontop of that airbrush on some little rust and shadow/highlight. Finally take the plates layer invert and paste ontop as a new layer differencing and offsetting slightly for a nice bump effect

but still pretty cool

earth to hubdule, come in hubdule.

did you get the launching bay? Ahhh i cant stand having that rocket floating in mid air. I have to make the retracting supports as a seperate x file . Guess ill have to download the launch see how they actually fall away from the hull.

lol... stupid me, i get easily distracted by shiney new betas
Oki oki, tonite promise i'll skin the rocket properly - oh and might slice open it into section models, so that Hubdule can actually have it break apart if he wants

Hey ya know when you gave me the model i did some research on the space missions, particularly Apollo 10-14 ...
I gotta say I don't believe they ever got MAN into space.
I'm sure they got the rockets tothe moon and such, but i've noticed so many very very poor mistakes in the film retouches its untrue. I think the biggest clue to this is the fact that to enable the pilots in the main landing capsule they had just enough space for 32kb Ram on a 4Mhz bus system computer.
Now i'm sorry but i have trouble getting my 286 with 4Mb Ram in C to perform the nessary calculations for the moon 1/6th gravity in realtime, and not enough memory to store the possible flight path and calculations withoutrelying on a Hard Disk Drive which would have never survived the LiftOff Shock (not those old ones anyways) and you need Approx. 52Mb of space - as HDD were heavy, bulky an such I don't think they'd of had the Room.
I mean I guess its possible even with the 15% sucess chance, but to have 3/4 missions actually complete it - that just beats the odds... no one is that lucki
This with the fact that there seems to be alot of unknown origin Artificial lighting in the pictures, we're talkin' there is one shot where i'd say for the Flag, Moon Lander and Buggy to have shadows like that and have the shadow lite up, they'd of needed a 15ft high flood light which was around 20ft SouthWest of the Shuttle perpendicular to Earth.

Also for saying it was "realtime" transmission, they had the earth rise during the mission - which technically when they shot it would have been almost 16hours before it did that, plus which they didn't have the air for!

(^_^) pitty, i'd love to see the all happen again and this time in realtime ... but as NASA has noted it wouldn't be possible until 2010, doesn't that say something to you?

I know they have the international space station to deal with but thier official comment was that it was not technologically possible! ... yet it was 25years ago??
Did i miss something there??

This isn't to say they didn't ofcourse, just that I don't believe they did it now. I'm sorry but for liars they pretty poor at it. They need to hire GamerX on thier staff to pull of something like that again!

hmmm...Not again! lol

Where's Challenger gone?

Who's that Russian guy in the Station?

Did that multi-millionaire paid and didn't get his trip to Mir?

How do they maintain properly Hubble?

Who controls it when Canadarm makes repairs and addons?

Where's all dead crews gone for long-term vacation?

I think that overall,it would cost more if they lied about it.
