So we saw that most FPSC games, as the name implies, are First Person Shooter, But a concept was inducted in FPSC when Ply's mod was released, Third Person, it was really basic at the moment, but many people loved to play with it, with it's new "Feature"

Even that this years the third person feature has increased remarkably, there are still some bugs, no im not here to talk about the bugs in Fenix Mod By HockeyKid, or Project Blue By S4real and Plystire, oh no!, im here to talk about their theory still..

Third Person Shooter Or First Person Shooter Differences:

As we know, FPS games are a market and TPS another one
I mean, you cant compare Resident Evil 5 with Call Of Duty 6, its impossible, firstly because its gameplay,it flows differently, and there is no "possible" Comparison between both,

Third Person Ups and Downs

Ups
-Controblable camera
-Scarier (it is better to have a wider angle to whats going on?)
-A more solid and defined personality (like in Silent Hill, you can see how your Char. looks and how his face moves from the situations)

Downs
-There is no gun control
-Possibly no ironsights (Exception:Metal Gear Series and Alone In The Dark)

I have a question on guns:
(Using Fenix Mod By Hockey Kid)-In 3rd Person, i need to hold a gun, or pick it up, but it doesnt seem to work, instead the real hands hold the gun and it looks really weird
How to Fix that so the weapon is picked by the Character, and not by the player?

I also left you a Teaser Image of my upcoming 3rd person game

This will be updated,Thanks for watching

Depends on the game, and personal opinion.

Depends on the game, the storyline, cutscenes, and other factors. I've played every Silent Hill game to date, and outside of cutscenes, the player's facial expressions aren't really noticed (because the camera is behind the character in the first place). Silent Hill's character personalities' are more reliant on the storyline, than anything else.

Depends on the game. Try SOCOM.

Depends on the game, and that's up to the developer.

You need to make the textures for the weapon and player arms transparent, so it will not appear in front of the camera when picked up.

You would need to rig each weapon in your game to the player's character, and then create a set of weapon animations tied to the character for each and every weapon the player can pick up. And leave the rest up to scripting (if it's even possible; I've never attempted weapon to character anims before in FPSC)

Yes, thats true, but i also need that the char. seem to pickup the weap (like put his arm in Weapon Holding Position)

Thx For Viewing,Kraven, now this was unexpected*winkle*Winkle*

I think it depends on the game, but 1st person gives more fell into it. I personally like horror better 1st person, usually.

But there ofcourse are exeptions like; Dead Space.

Also aiming and shooting and everything goes very much better (in my case) in 1st person than 3rd person.

And the personality thing also depends. I mean, if, for an example, Half-Life series was done in a 3rd person, I propably wouldn't have liked it so much. So it depends on the creator and the game.

You can still do hybrids like Rainbow Six Vegas

Thats completely not true: Experiencing something in first person view just like you would see it yourself is way scarier.

Maybe, but not ego/self experience... you do not get really close to the story in first person and interactions with other characters aren' t that spectacular in third person. (Call of Duty 4/Half Life 2/Dark Messiah etc.)
Quote: "

Needs to be fixed...in future fpsc versions it'll be possible. In all other games: There is "gun control" depending on what guncontrol means.

you forgot armed assault and some more games, don' t forget that it is up the creator whats possible an what not. In FPSC it isn' t a good idea I guess.

-----------------------------

Replace the weapon textures with transparent ones.

And get a project finished...you already started loads of games but never finished anything.

I could have a wild guess on that...but I guess it would violate the AUP

As this is only Theory, in theory it is best if one has multiple choice of view or camera angles and the ability to switch between those and both first person and third person switching of view/play and the ability to look back at the player or have a camera view follow a bullet or rocket and more is all power to your game.

There are some engines that have many multiple and flexible camera view possibilites so one can view a window into the world ahead or use the features to record gameplay or cut scenes and more and there are some where they exist only in theory.

Personally I like Third person view especially for outdoor areas, so you can see the player climb ladders and alike which you also have in theory.

Unlike Ladders however Third person view is a bonus which is best avoided in FPSC until its stable and all the more so as first person view is indeed more frightening in levels that are designed to be so.
