Well guys, I think this whole conflict has come to a close. I posted this earlier, and thought I put it on the first page too, so it is is more exposed.

I just got an email back from Lee. Here's what he said:
Quote: "
We are not planning anything else for X10, as it stands on it's own as a game creator for DirectX 10 and Windows Vista. All new features moving forward will be through X9, with many of these features planned as a free update. X10 users will also be able to use their X10 serial codes to activate the free version of X9 so they can also enjoy the benefits of FPSC development moving forward. We have also released the X10 source code on the website for those who wish to take the engine in a different direction. It is much better for a small team like us to focus on a single code base, and the current X9 V117 internal version is already superior to X10 in a number of ways including realistic talking characters, better DarkAI scripting, backwards compatible with PS 2.0 (for low-spec PC compatibility) and a gamut of new features from various enthusiast mods. Hope this gives you more insight into what we are planning for the future."

Now, while I realize that that is a bit sad, listen to this part:

Quote: "X10 users will also be able to use their X10 serial codes to activate the free version of X9 so they can also enjoy the benefits of FPSC development moving forward."

Just to be sure that meant what I thought it meant, I asked him to clarify.

Quote: "From V117 onwards, you will be able to use your X10 code for X9 onwards, yes. It seamed only fair."

So, as soon as the migration is released, we all have access to X9. So we can continue to use X10 as we wish, use Mystic Mod and participate in this community, while also being able to use all the new stuff going into the X9 version.

Well, we have that sorted out now. I think it was a good conclusion. We get all the goodness of X10 had before, and all the cool stuff going into it now by Budokaiman, and get to use all the cool stuff going into X9 now.

I think it came out well.

What do you all think of this outcome?

Well, I think before we send lee and email stating what we want done, just send him a quick email that asks what is going to happen with the migration. Ask him if the x10 users are getting this for free or what he plans on doing with x10.

That's probably a good idea. I think we should do it.

Does everyone agree? I'm only the spokesman, and I want to have the community behind me on everything.

That's great news. Thank you for taking time to handle this Shadowtroid. I'm certain now with the ground you have covered, this should now help ease some minds.

Thought I'd add this since I was asked... Since the x10 source is available, we're going to be looking at it to see if we can get our RPG mod compatible with x10. It will not happen right away, but I am working to deploy some projects to free up resources for this task.

Then there can be two mods available for x10.

Thanks Blackfox, that means a lot coming from you.

And that'd be cool if you could get RPG mod over to X10. We can always use more manpower over here.

Well, if you want some help integrating, or wouldn't mind having it incorporated into Mystic-Mod, just e-mail me. I'd be glad to help, plus it wouldn't hurt to simply have one mod, that gives everyone all the features, instead of having to only use some.

Thanks for the offer. We'll take a look at the source and look at the RPG source to see what kind of work is ahead of us. We'll also discuss your ideas and keep you posted.
