I know nothing about C++, that and making plug-in's for Dark Basic Pro. All I really want to do is get a basic understanding on how to get varaibles, do some math with the varaibles, and then return a value depending on a few if statements. That and display a little text. Could someone help me? Oh, can I make em in Dev-C++ (yep, even after my fiasco with Allegro, I still got the bugger)?

If you dont know much about C, then I recommend a good book and the C forums.
You will also need to read the TPC SDK.
In addition, IanM has a base TPC which you would also find useful.

Yes, you can make them in Dev-C++.

The only thing that I couldn't get working in Dev-C++ is calling DBPro internals (not consistantly anyway) and recieving the core pointer (I did have a slightly 'iffy' way to do it).

This is not a problem for you if all you want to do is calculate with a few variables.

Have a quick read of the help document first and try to compile a few of the examples.

Yup. Either that or use Power/Pure BASIC instead if you need something a little closer to home language-wise.
