I want to take my fps creator game to the next level. Will buying and learning DBPro help me with that? I am having trouble wrapping my head around what using DBPro will do for me if I'm using FPS creator. For example can I just buy dark voices and somehow use it with fps creator or do I need to use DBPro between dark voices and fps creator? Just looking for some insight.

P.S. I apologize for sounding like a complete newbie but I figure someone else might have the same question and be too afraid to ask.

Get DBPro if you want to learn how to actually make games. And after you have been at it a bit, you can get the source code for FPSC and make your changes.

Also you can use FPSC maps in DBPro. It's not terribly difficult and there's a video for how to do it here:

Agreed it might be a little early to purchase but if you're going to sell anything you will need a license.

Personally I think it's worth the cost anyway (even if it is available free for personal use)...

FPSC is now open source, and is being updated as well:

Learning DBP will open several huge new doors into editing the source of FPSC to make it fit any project you may need... but it will take a bit of experience under your belt. Just look at some of these great mods:
