Welcome,

I have new request for someone who can animate character.
I upload video of this alien spider (model was originally made by great artist - HorriblyGrotesque - and Yes, I have his permission)
but if somebody will be interested to animate this and make FPSC ready
I could send also geometry (obj) and texture files (I have also Poser 4 files and face morphs).
Body and tentacles are 20806 polygons, and is derived from a human model of Poser4, legs spider is a separate model with 17688 polygons.

* I sent also private request to 3 modellers.

The polycount is WAY too high, about 5000 polys is max.

bond1's cahacters dont have that many polies his are onlt 1000 - 2000 mabey 500 more or less, are you confusing polies with vertices? the leech has an excessive number, to the point where its useless, also don't use models ripped out of poser 4, thats illegal

Why illegal?
If somebody bought software - can use library of models for commercial or non-commercial purpose.
If U bought Corel Draw U can use clipart...

Polycount is fine for a boss character in a smallish level. Modern graphics cards can push INSANE amounts of polys. A lot of people are still under the impression that graphics card technology stopped in 2003.

That's not to say you can go crazy with every model. But it's fine for a single boss type character. Heck if you put 4 or 5 of my latest character models in the same room that will match this polycount, and no one has complained about slowdowns.

EDIT: I read incorrectly. I see that there are two parts to the model. Yeah, that polycount is a bit high for game model!

i'm not saying that graphics cards today can't handle a model of that size, i use a gtx295 and i could handle that but i know a lot of people who would have issues. and poser the program can be used and videos can be made of their models, but the leap between showing a video of one of their models and acctually giving away their models is called copyright fraud, if i didn't have poser for insance and wanted their models i could just download yours and there you go i have it, if i were you i'd recommend removing the download

yes, but the poser model from library was only the base for strong remodelling so I give not originally model but another model made by owner of Poser. If I give U poster in Corel with clipart I give U my work not clipart for redistribution...
but I have another question for pro user:

"I did the rig and animation in Poser, if a editor import BVH files as
bones, I have to export a BVH in T default position (for the rig) and another
for animation, correct me if wrong... for saving time rendering I made the
animation at 15fps, let me know if this enough...
I will try to reduce the number of polygons, and if a editor supports the
quadrangles, I will try also to convert the triangles...
I used a only map for color and reflection, a procedural turbulence for
bump, that I can convert to grayscale map, and separate maps for blood."

yes but its all down to intentions, if i wanted the clipart from corel as i said before i could just take it from your work and you'd be blamed. i'm pretty sure that distributing their model in whatever shape or form is still illegal, i'd have a read of the terms and conditions, for instance the zbrush default man base can be used for modeling, but a lot of people make their own bases to make distribution easier, its not illegal, i think, to distibute an adapted version of zbrushes base but it is illegal to sell it, this may be the same case for poser but they may not even let you distribute it, i'd drop efontier an email if i were you, you don't want to get sued

Ok (mesh from Poser are illegal to make the game model) so
I will rebuild the model from scratch (from cube) and made it lowpoly... with bone system.
So everybody will be interest to animate this?

I still giggle at people who think resizing images down is a bad thing. Technology has vastly improved and Photoshop's resizing algorithms are more than good enough to deal with resizing a texture image, even if it does need a little touch up here and there.
