Well, I was watching TV yesterday and saw a rocket launching from within the pilot area, and decided to recreate a rocket launch in FPSC. Here are my results:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKRWVcvaeBU

(Sorry for the low FPS, that was a problem with the video recorder)

I thought it turned out pretty well...let me know what you all think

And don't forget to check out my Nuclear Explosion video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ca4AcZfE40

Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone If anyone is wondering how it works, the "sky" you see is simply a billboard which slowly moves downward to simulate a rocket going up. The whole thing is 4 wall segments wide, and 20 high. The texture used is custom made (and proud, too ) and is a whopping 2048x10240 pixels.

I've attached the texture onto this post if anyone wants to take a look at the transition...I actually researched about cloud layers and the distance to space to make this as accurate as possible Texture must not be re-distributed and cannot be used in any project, it is only for viewing.

I was wondering what you were doing with the moveup command. Pretty cool.

I think adding heat haze to simulate air friction would add to it a little...

Yep, I finally managed to fix that problem. Before, it went shooting up through the skybox, which didn't make the effect look too good

My first guess was that you used Bond1's shader on which you can put a 70 sec sprite on.

Thats a intresting thought, but you could have done it in another way with using Bond recent tutorial.

Costume textures and models, sounds might just look awesome.

I swear, TGC needs more badges. I think Ply and Marc should both get FPSC Scripting Master badges

I've heard that staring at it for 10 minutes straight will turn you into a psychopath and cause blood to spill from you're mouth...what? It could happen...
