[ UPDATE: 24/05/2010 ]
[ VERSION: 0.2 ]
[ SNIPPETS: 1 ]
[ COMPLETION: 10% ]

Core, Text, Input, File, Display, Basic 2D

I have started compiling a new help CHM file for Darkbasic Pro and some extensions. The ideia is getting the best help file possible with easy navigation and code snippets. Well, running around the commands there are many examples missing and when it comes to extension examples it gets worse.

Phase 1 - Needed snippets for specific commands, to attach to command pages. [Dark Physics, Dark Lights, Styx, Dark Clouds]

Outstanding! This project will be greatly appreciated by many, Miguel Lobo, and I will be very anxious to see it's progress. Please allow me to offer a short snippet that might be useful for any of the following commands:

CIRCLE
SIN
COS
TEXT

It's a short routine that displays a traditional looking radar screen with a radial line sweeping around:

Thank you very much. I will do it, since its a way of learning the language all along.

Thanks for the Snippet Roswell, thats the spirit, simple blocks of code to go along with the command pages.
Added!

Are other snippets (the DBPro commands) welcome too, or are you just gonna do the plugin commands?

BTW, your help interface already looks great! Nice work!

Cheers

All DBPro commands snippets are welcome, keep them tight and small for people to try and understand better.

Hang in there, Miguel Lobo. This project has been attempted many, many, many times in the past and never really quite got off the ground. I tried to do it myself when I first found DBPro, and found it to be a major project. However, if you stick with it until just a few more people pitch in some snippets, you might get enough momentum to start drawing in others.

For now, you may want to browse the Code Snippets forum to see if there is any code there that you can use. I would ask the authors if they would like their code included in your final product before using it, but there is quite a large selection of quality snippets there.

You are right Ros, for now people just seem to be in the "lets wait and see" mode.
I am going to continue and hopefully by the end of this month I will have DBPro help system finished, then I will move on to include the snippets and stuff.
The Code Snippets forum has lots of things to borrow, and the code challenge also, but it will be overhelming to contact people for a specific type of code, better having the snippets submited.
Anyways, first things first: Finish the DBPro sys.
