Hey guys, WolfeClaw here.
I've been having a few problems with making a wallet prop FPSC ready (I made the model to make sure I could make something work in FPS Creator) and I was wondering if any of you could help me.
The problem I'm having is that everytime I run the Entity Editor I get the following error message:
Runtime error 7018 - Could not load 3D object at line 49

I've been following this Youtube tutorial, by the way:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtLJ3JNqNJE

Any help would be much appreciated

hmm first i think you should check your files . make sure
the model is a .x file. the texture .tga , .png ,.dds ,jpg.

then check your .fpe open it on notepad and check the lines .
lastly check the file path be sure that the texture or model arent in the wrong folder
i could help if you upload the model.

Well, the model is definitely an .x file and th texture's a Jpeg, the lines seem fine as well...
Here's the model:

Ok, I just tried using an untextured cube instead of a wallet and it worked fine so it's definitely something to do with the model or texture

Hmm...
I'll try making something different and rewatch the video. I'll post the results when I'm done.

Didn't work, same error. I even tried removing the texture to see if that was it but it wasn't...

make your model DBO and your texture dds. are you using a fpi file from a nother model. if you are doing that most likely there something in that that making the error.

Life is not fair, so deal with it.

It doesn't seem to give me the option to export my model as a .DBO though I can easily make my texture a DDS. Also, the model was made 100% by me, so no, I'm not using an FPI file from something else.
I'm not sure if it'll make any difference but I'm using Blender

Well, the texture is now a DDS but the model is still a .x

I've tried using a converter that I found whilst browsing these forums but I only got the same error except it was line 9 not 42...
So I'm guessing that there is something wrong with the model itself.
Here are some screenshots of the model:

Can anyone see any problems?

If you attach the Blender file, I'll try to make it FPSC ready, and see if I get the same error along the way. Can't really tell anything from your screenshots, other than your model's origin being off.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the .x file. Make sure you have the object selected before you export it.

EDIT: Even better, just send me the .blend file, to cross off the chance you're using the wrong export settings.

Even if the model's unselected, you can select 'Export All' to export all geometry in the file I thought, I always use that with my models and they work fine. But yeah, might as well release the .blend file since if there's nothing in that, then something has definitely gone wrong ...

Ok, I've got my gib model into FPSC but they go into the ground and they're untextured...

It goes into the ground because your model's origin is off (as mentioned before). If there's no texture on it in-game, then the texture path in the .fpe file is wrong.

Try re-installing, or check if Python's working properly. That happened to me and I reinstalled Blender, and it worked after that .

I wish I had a better computer, whenever I make a big game in FPSC I lag so much that it's unplayable. Is there any way to boost performance?
