Is it possible to make a door with L4D styling?
so when the Zombie hits it, it breaks off a chunk,. then another chunk, then the door falls apart alltogether?
I am sure thuis is possible, I mainly need pointers.
Any help please?

Through modelling, scripting and animation, yes. Simply make chinks of the door in a modelling program, either separate or altogether. If you put them altogether, you'll need to animate the chinks falling off, otherwise you just need to place the separate pieces in the right places. For the entire door, you need to create a script which animates after a certain amount of health has been lost or an entity is near.

However, I'm not sure how to get the script to check if a specific entity is near .

Thanks dude. I'm gonna try and make it so that if the Zombies detect teh player, it looks for a door between them. If there is, it attacks it Probably will take alot of work, but ohwell.

Yep, it's possible. You need to first of all animate the door breaking down, then write a script. If I was doing it, I'd create a variable for the door's health, then using the anywithin condition detect the zombies and then decrease the health when a zombie is near, and run the animations based on the health value.

Also, jsut a quick note, with your Car Alarm (Yes, I'm using it ^^)
it wouldn't make the Zombies spawn D; I had them set up, ETC.

Did you rename the zombies to the same value as the IfUsed in the Car's settings?

You can make exploding doors without any animation and get a pretty good effect.
Place your door chunks into the surrounding wall (door frame area) and set them not to spawn at start. Give all the chunks the same name and set your existing door to explode on destroy.
Then set the chunks to spawn on the death of the door and they will fly outwards, as FPSC does not like entities spawning inside a solid structure.

I use this a lot for doors being busted open by Bond1's big bad Brute dude

Your signature has been erased by a mod. The sig needs to be 600 width maximum (x 120 height) for all of it.

While that will create an exploding door effect, it is not what he is trying to achieve. He wants the chunks to fall out of the door as it gets more damaged.
