Hey, I was wondering if there was any way to give a single model multiple textures, such as one per body part, and to be able to alternate the textures to simulate equipment changes, only from inside the engine instead of from a third party texturing/modelling tool? Preferably this should be done without having to break the model down into multiple models.

You can apply a texture to each limb using DBP code. If your object is boned then you cant.

Check out the 'texture limb' command.

I think I know what Mobiius meant.
You can have an object that is a single mesh, and has a bone rig assigned to it. IF that is the case, you can manipulate verts in the mesh based on the bones, and in DBPro, each bone is considered a limb.
However, for texturing, textures are applied to meshes, not bones.
So, it is possible to have a model that is one mesh, boned, has several "limbs", but only one texture.
If you made the model with seperate meshes for each limb, and boned it for the limbs, you could assign different textures to each limb. But be careful, because when you get a list of limbs, you'll get the mesh limbs AND the bone limbs.

What might be an idea is to have your character, bare, no equipment at all, and bone animated for smoothness. Then in DBPro, you add in the equipment by gluing objects to limbs, like a gun can be glued to the hand, a shoulder pad could be glued to the shoulder limb etc etc. It would make it easy to change these around, as the item itself can retain it's identity - like the same object can be used to drop the item on the ground, show it in a shop window, or glue it onto someones body.

I would go for a modular system, let people buy seperate knee and shoulder pads, chest protection, weapons, and mix and match how they like.
