Hi,
Well I made this test tree, not very good but I did not want to put a lot of time in it untill I know I can make it work I get alot of black around the green leaves. See photo:

Can anyone tell me what i did wrong?

I think it could have something to do with it being a Jpeg. They normally ruin the quality of smaller images. Try using PNG

try to save your texture as png file like WolfeClaw said

well I tryed a png and the black can be seen. see photo:

I try tga and the tree is not there , can't be seen.

so what next???

with .png you dont use black to represent a transparent section, you just make it transparent, i.e. in photoshop so that it looks like a bunch of checkers...

The problem is that the .jpg file has bad quality level so the black isn't proper black and will not be recognized as transparent. Use a proper image editing tool and get rid of the black stuff,then save as .dds or .png.
