Okay so I have both Dark Physics and Newton and the forums seems very devided on this matter. I have more experience of Dark Physics. However I have come to the understanding that Newton actually handles rigid bodies. So basically which one is better in terms of performance, functionality, stability etc?

They both handle rigid bodies. They're both as good as each other (If you know what you're doing) but Dark Physics has a lot of issues with it. (Cloth doesn't work for one) whereas Newton takes a lot more setting up to function and doesn't have cloth or soft bodies at all.

Stick with what you know until you're forced to change I say.

I've never used Newton but I have found Dark Physics to be pretty easy to learn and the bugs it has aren't too bad. If you're fairly new to programming it's not a bad place to start!

Check out my game "Odd Blox" via the link on my signature to see what I did for my first ever finished game using Dark Physics...

Thanks for the advice but I've decided to go for Newton as then users don't need PhysX installed on their systems. Despite their being less support (espeically on the forums) in terms of functionality and errors it wins in the small tests I've run.

However I may revert back. I'll post which one works out best on a large project
