(continued from title) I didn't realize how many zombie games were actually right here on this forum. Now, I know I can go off and do something totaly original with my new model packs but I was wondering what you guys think. What would be some crazy cool ideas to help me make a zombie game stand out. See I dont have any Ideas for story yet my bro and I are doing a story idea today over skype. This is what I had in mind tell me what you think. Keep in mind I have scenes in my head not storylines.

-I want to start out in an underground sciencey facility or a hospital after the damage is done. With no memory of anything prior to you waking up, you just know you have to goto the address on your drivers license.

-The zombies only die from headshots, or like millions of shots to the body.

-Firing your guns (without silencers) alert zombies at proximity.

-I want to recreate a few scenes from my favorate zombie movies such as-
-The church scene in the beggining of 28 days later
-Shaun of the deads bar scene towards the end
-Zombielands carnaval scene (Woody in the gamebooth)
-all of the above of coarse with original twists

-Most importantly I want an ally who kills zombies and they try to kill him/her also.

***to the mods***
if this should be in the WIP forum you can move it for me right? I have no screens or story yet and didn't want to break any rules.

***to everyone who wants to help***
This is what I am asking. Any ideas that could help make those scenes be original. Nothing will be considered lame and if anything you suggest is used your name will be in the creds.

-off topic
I played "He is coming" last night... Awsome!! Nickydudes level design is of profesional quality and if you haven't tried it you should right now!

First off, a good choice of a model pack to buy - you can have infinite fun killing those mob zombies. It looks like you're going to be scripting a lot of scenes - I recommend you get Project Blue for the enhanced performance for more zombies, more scripting functions, and full screen shaders.

This can easily be done with Fenix mod v1.1.

Just increase the health of the zombie to like a 1000 and apply the appearheadshot.fpi script as the zombie's appear script.

Done! (It worked with the Half-life zombie model by bond1)

EDIT

The scenes that you want to make can be made with dozen multiplayer maps, although it will require a lot of hard work. I haven't seen those movies though so I can't judge how the scenes are played.

Make a map. Send it to your friends. Tell them which character they should be and what they should do in the map. Have a screen recorder ready. Just start recording the scene.

Very basic and long but it's worth it.

I did forget to mention a few things in my original post and have no idea about editing yet (**forum newbie here**)

I'm not afraid to buy anything and project blue looks really cool
(using airmod at the moment)

I will look into Fenix mod.

I will post a cast of characters in a later post but right now I know I need a black chic and a white boy/child. (for friendlys not zombies) Chances are I will retexture a female model for a black chic. Black female models online are either slutty looking or ugly, totaly not what im going for.

***for anyone who knows***
If I sent a purchased model to my brother to alter or retexture for him to just send back to me to use (we are a team) does that violate any piracy rules? Trying to do everything legal lol.

EDIT: @Abdul
Haha totaly what I had in mind with the multiplayer maps! 4 comps in the house and lots of willing people for voice acting. Got the idea from the community guide .pdf Hey if you or anyone else reading this want to help out with the cutscenes or voice acting that would be awsome! I will credit

I'll be glad to help you out. Just send me an email with the required stuff and info.

Edit

I don't think it is illegal to share models within the team. That's what i do with my team(cousins, younger brother and dad).

I think it is... then every single pirate would just say: Oh, I am in a team, so it's legal for me to have the pack for free.... and so on. It is totally illegal. Sounds like an attempt to get free stuff, for me...

Actually you dont need a mod for headshots, appearheadshot.fpi came along with v1.16.
In fact if your using any of bond's characters they tend to come with a custom script and using anything else will probably mess up the anims etc, better to simply add this line to the start of scripts used for the apoc zombies and save yourself any grief.

I Love Zombies...there will never be too many Zombie Movies or Games. In fact, `i luv zombies` is the title of my FPS Zombie Shooter. So you want your Zombie game to stand out hey? Well toss out the story and go for insane arcade style action like in `i luv zombies`.

In ILZ, you're a highly trained soilder whos job is to protect the human population from the Zombie Infection. The infection is extremely contagious and acts fast, so, if a human is attacked you only have a few seconds to take out zombies before the human is transformed. Sounds easy, but, its not! Humans are usually found in small to large groups. Zombies attack in ever growing swarms.

Use your therm-o-view system to locate and rescue fellow Humans. Use a wide assortment of weapontry to dismember, incenerate, freeze, blast-to-bits mass amounts of Zombies in your way. Save as many Humans you can per Zombie Wave. Lose all humanity and its a dead end for you - hehe.

I cant get airmod working with v1.16 so headshots will probly have to be used from a mod. Unless airmod has headshots.

@TechLord
Your game sounds really cool and the arcade shooter idea was considered. I am going for a more personal experience for the player though. I'm going for more of a silent hill feel over dead rising, if that makes sence.

Thanks again everyone for the feedback. I just got model pack 22 or the "gore" pack and I'm going to incorperate those into my game also. My brother and I yesterday tried to make a story but it was an epic failure... creativity isn't there yet. Any suggestions or helpful comments are appriciated and again thank in advance!

I've considered a similar theme for an eventual FPSC game of my own, but never really got started on it (school takes up too much time.)
I also thought about making a zombie game where you start out in the basement/bunker of a complex and have to work your way out, not knowing what happened to the world.

The zombie theme might be slightly watered out, but IMO, it never really loses its charm. Zombies are easy enough to achieve and fun to kill gameplay-wise. As long as there's a bit of originality in there, people will play it and have fun doing so. Unless of course they hate the whole zombie concept overall.

Simply try it and see.
TBH I cant quite remember which version headshots were introduced into FPSC I reckon it prolly goes much further back.
Since mods add additional code to the scource it is not necessary to add it into your mod and so it should be available in all of them, unless the modder removed it. Horror mod for instance simply adds to this by 'removing' the head when shot, I believe this is simply a case of pulling the head bone into the body. So whatever mod you use is not going to change the headshot, would try it with whatever version you use above v1.10 and see.
