Hi, i ussally don`t pay much attention to those commecials or add on internet / even on TGC website unless is a very good offer.

i just noticed Dark Game Studio 70% discount offer.
The Dark Game Studio conntains the following software " DarkBASIC Professional, Dark Lights, Dark AI, Dark Physics, DarkBASIC Electronic, Dark Shader, eXtends, Treemagik G3, Plant Life, Cartography Shop, DarkMATTER 1, DarkVOICES, DarkGAME Studio, FPS Creator FREE " FOR ONLY 30 £, THAT`S EQUALLY IN DANISH KRONER = 300KR.

Sounds like a fantastic deal, but i want it as a download, why ?
becuase, i live in denmark, and i have to order it via shipping ordering, plus when this lovly software packet comes to denmark the custom in denmark will put 25% taxes plus the bill for the transport to denmark, let see 30 £ add 25% = 37.5 £ plus the shipping bill / transport = ?, so, how much do i have to pay ?, 30 £ or twice or even more, i think i`m going to order it, but i dont hope i`m gonna have a big bill $$$$£££.

i have to wait a loooooooooooong time before it reaches denmark.

i`m eager to gets this special offer, wauv, ohh my good i hope i can get it.please help me TGC.(how long do they TCG have this offer, i have to wait on monday 31. may, before i get money, because i used my money on a new pc!).

The DGS Bonanza has 90% discount, you know?

Yep, it sure is. I might even get it myself later on. I already have DarkGame Studio, but there are some plugins I don't have yet.

The offer has been there for a while, so I think you'll have enough time before the offer expires.

Some programs (like the plugins) are distributed online, so in the meantime you can download the FREE version of DBPro, hey?

Enjoy your programming!

Cheers

Most of the software is only available from the mailed CD. Only a few of the DB plugins are downloadable. You're out of luck I'm afraid.

What is special about Denmark? I bought DGS and had it delivered to France, I paid UK VAT (17.5%, as one would expect) and the postage was only a few £.

Where does the 25% come from?

OK, TGC add the VAT at the end of the transaction (which they shouldn't, if they are selling retail), but we all have to pay it....

sorry, my mistakes, The Game Creator is located in England, not USA, as i though, upps.

and because we`re are in the EU, i don`t have to pay any taxes through the costum (only outside EU), so its only 30£ or 300 kr, inc vat ?. (ussaly 25%), plus 5-7 £ for for delivering the packet to Denmark, but nevertheless is still cheap, i`m going to order it from on monday-tuesday for shure. (i don`t hope the dvd will be scracthes or damaged!).

i was worried, because one of my freind did order a iphone from USA, he only paid, as i recalled it aprox 120$ for the iphone.
i took 3 month before it arrived in denmark, the costum took it and, i can`t remember what happen after, but he contacted the costum in denmark and asked for the iphone, they did have, but he could only get if he paid 40-50% ekstra for taxes etc..
complety unfair to my opionen, it true ther is special rules that only aplies to denmark, if you buy things out the EU from through Denmark, then they will charge you like hell.

All EU countries are supposed to levy customs charges for goods from outside the EU, but France (for one) doesn't seem to (I must have imported 10000€ worth of stuff from the Far East, without paying duties, or VAT!)

And I thought that France is hot on paperwork!

Your DVD will arrive unmarked in a nice plastic box, the rest you will download.

Have fun - DGS seems to an even better bargain now (it was only -70% when I bought it!)

ps. just noticed a small picture TGC just made (top, headline, to the right corner.)

the small picture has a text, man its so funny.
the text goes like this "Organic Error, object behind keyboard can`t program", ha, ha

you`re right, about the taxes, i only had to pay for dark game studio plus delivery plus vat. detail below:

dark game studio = 30 £

delivery cost (to denmark ) = 2£

vat 17.5 % = 30 * 17.5 / 100 = 5.2 £

all inc. to pay = 39.5 £ or 400 kr.

so, it ok, you can`t get it cheaper.

buying anything, outside the EU, will cost me alot!.

properly because Dark ai is from TGC and Dark Physics is from Nvidia.

did`nt try out Dark AI, Dark Physics.

but i did try to simulate gravity in my 2d platform tests game, i just did this = when player is pressing backspace then allow sprite to move up to a certain high, after a few second reverse movement in opersite direction,(gravity pulls you back to the ground ), you do this by adding codes like, INC move,1 or move=move+1, allso add the Timer function to it, to check how long the sprite is not at ground level....

To be honestly, there is still some bugs in dark games pro, etc, but it got so much better,

if you did try out or using visual basic express 2008,and let say made an typical error like, writing an if statement and forget to include endif, visual basic 2008 will tell you that." if must end with a matching endif".
heck, it will tell you, if the coffee is not hot enough, maybe not, but putting visual basic 2008 / studie with dark gdk/net is a very powerfull combination.

Not true, PhysX is by nVidia, Dark Physics is by TGC. (Dark Physics is just an extremely cut down wrapper for PhysX and does not include half the commands. (And the ones which are included are buggy. )

is that true ?
because I ordered it about a week ago and I was able download a LOT of stuff before the CD arrived.

Cartography Shop
Dark AI
Dark Lights
Dark Physics
Dark Shader
DarkBASIC Electronic
DarkBASIC Professional
DarkMATTER 1
DarkVOICES
eXtends
Plant Life
Treemagik G3

also all the GDK versions for all the products and also updates for physics

As soon as my order was processed I received an email with a link to a download page and all my unlock/verification codes for all the products.

So I've had all this for a week already but I just received my 2 CDs yesterday :
The 3D Gamemaker
DarkGAME Studio

I haven't even opened the DarkGAME Studio CD yet because I figured I had everything already.

HMMM,what about rest of the software you just recived.
Cartography Shop
Dark AI
Dark Lights
Dark Shader
DarkMATTER 1
DarkVOICES
eXtends
Plant Life
Treemagik G3

any problems with them ?, or are they making any kind of troubles
for you ?. (i just want to know, because i somehow feel that,
TGC`s product contains to many bugs.!
that`s exactly why, i ordered/bougt Dark gdk.net yesterday, so
i can have visual basic 2008 and dark gdk.net, because visual basic 2008 is so much more powerfull.
i knew it, Jonathan Harbour was right about everything.
even the cursor, when using input code in dark basic pro, dosent appear................
my latest "small" game "noughts and crosses",nice graphics, appear to be little bit slow, but is ok, do that in c++, and you will have ligtning fast gameplay.
there are many free alternative to TGC product, like "Allergro" for c++.

why on earth, don`t we complain all these bugs to TGC and their developers, after all, we`re the one, whoose suffering alot, and pay
our hardworked earned money,to TGC and their buggy product, it is not fair at all.
maybe someone should write a wishing list, all about, what errors they experince with TGC product, so TGC can have a "to do list", to fix most commen problems.
Because these product is not open source, we can`t really fix them by our self, unfortunely, or maybe dont have the neccersy skills to just that, do i sound negative ?, no i just want good quality product, nothing else.

don`t be passive, be active and act in a positve way, and tell TGC about you experince with their product, after all, most dark basic user etc., love their product and are quite happy with TGC product.

what i really mean, could it be possible, to do a list with general most common problems, there is with dark basic pro and other product, not taking into acount, of every single bugs you find( no pc software is 100% bug free, i`m realistic person).
just a list of maybe 10 most common bugs dark basic user find most important to fix.
maybe TGC need to hire more programmaers.

lots of companies are doing market research, what people thing about there product, is that really negative ?.

and i still think TGC has good product, and i will be suing them alot.

giving away dark basic pro for free, is a very good think to do.
