I want to get an idea of what the most popular is among FPSC users.

64 bit or 32 bit?

Very little amount of users use 64bit because of some compability issues with 32bit applications.

Personally I use 32 bit.

What sort of compatibility issues are there with the 64 bit?
I haven't been having any issues, but if 32 bit is the most popular I will swith over to i for the program I am working on.

the big advantage of 64bit is it allows you to access more than 4 gigs of ram at one time, which is the cap limit for a 32 bit system (or is it 2?), i don't think that FPSC has 64-bit functionality at this time, but what do i know, I'm a 32 bit user

I am very aware of the differences between 32 and 64bit and RAM usage is a very minor difference.

I am just trying to get a grip on what the majority here are using.

NAACP I appreciate your additional input, but please refrain from un necessary input. I am just gathering data.

64 Bit. Haven't had any notable issues running 32 Bit applications, so it seemed like a no brainer.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

3.25 gb is the maximum usable RAM for a 32 bit application. I have only 2 gb of ram, so I use 32 bit.

Well sometimes there are some slight problems but not always. I still use 32bit because I dont need more than 3gb ram anyways.

I've got a 32 bit and 64 bit system. No compatibility issues on the 64.

64bit as i need 6 gigs of RAM, there are not compatability issues that i have found so far, sometimes some programs are only available in a 32bit version but the 64bit version soon follows, same goes for certain programs updates

I have had 64 bit for over a month now and have had no issues with fps software including the add-ons. What I have noticed is that the more expensive the software (like my old autocad) the harder it is to install. I think this is because the installer programs themselves are actually checking the system version, where as things like "plant life" don't seem to care and just install with no problem.

The other thing to try if you have problem is ORCA, it's part of the miscrosoft software development kit. You copy the install files to you desktop open the setup.ini file with orca and delete lines that say "checkopsys64". sometimes works, sometimes not.
