Hi guys I'm still new to the Fps Creator scene in all honesty, but I've been wondering. Why is it that everyone has put all these mods and extras (scripting in mind here) all into single player aspects. But it seems no one has put much effort into the multi-player. Now I mean no disrespect to the creators of this program nor to anyone who has worked so hard to make it what it is today, but it seems that the program was with single player in mind and after they made it someone said "oh yeah lets throw in multi-player so we can say we did." and then left it.I ask this because it seems no one has tried to put in things like dynamic entities, which in my opinion (and yes i know it's just an opinion) would make that aspect of the program that much better, and I feel more people would be interested in purchasing this program.I am an avid fan of On-line play, and i would love to make games for the friends i play with, but with the limitations imposed on multi-player it seems redundant to even try.Why cant we use things like explosives,or windows that break,or anything that single player has?. I mean you can use doors that open and close isn't that a dynamic entity? Whats the reason for this restriction?
Please I would love to know why?,An if anyone knows of a mod or even i tidbit of news that sheds light on this and/or a new download that allows for these things please drop me a line.
BTW im running the x9 version due to the fact that I can not afford a computer right now to run the new x10 So i know nothing about X10's features so maybe these problems have been addressed,
And If your a modder working on this please let me know so i can see and keep up with your progress.

Thanks so much for reading this and I look forward to any understanding and responces you all may have

in my opinion X10 is crap compared to X9 purchase project blue, and a few model packs and it will greatly increase the possibility in game.

other than that, i completely agree!

I've attempted to make FPSC Multiplayer better and easier to use with FPSC IP.

The new version has more of a source edit with it to change the actual multiplayer as well.

If I was going make a game in FPSC it would be a Multiplayer game. I can't even get any one to even tell if it was able to make a working Multiplayer game I ask this in here http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=171139&b=21

and not one person replyed. You can make a fps game in many game engines, but there very very few Multiplayer engines that you can use on the web. I would think how money driven TGC is they would brakeing there necks to get one out on the market. Just think what could be done in FPSC it you could put it on the net and have your friends come and play with you.

Yes, you can make a working multiplayer game. I've done it here, and others have as well. You build an arena game, and upload the .exe and game files to a file hosting website such as Filefront or Megaupload. Then your friends download your game files, run the game, and then log on and create or join a server. The most people I've played with on one server in Training Grounds was 8.

There are limitations, however, with an arena game. I've tried to cover what I could here on the subject. The biggest issue with arena games in general, is setting up your connection to host a server (port forwarding, etc). But, it is posssible, and they do work

I see you need that blue mod, I know alot about making games, but I know not a thing about the enternet. I have a friend that has a server at his house, could I put it on that and then other people be able to play in it? I realy want to make some online games, I play ET all the time( when I have time) I was told that at any given time there 50,000 people playing ET. That is alot.

First off I want to thank everyone who has replied to this post,Kraven I have read your posts that you linked, And I understand that one limitation to arena is the no flak capabilities, But is it possible to write code that can implement it (Flak). or is it just impossible to do? as well as add in code for dynamic entities?

knxrb I have looked into your program and I believe I understand the basis of it,and I apologize for any ignorance I have about it,but if I understand correctly it is a lobby program correct?, and if so how is the s4mod useful for this program, but then again I'm not sure about any of the mods i have been seeing. I see the features but I still only see these affecting singleplayer play, I commend you though for your efforts all be it that I don't full grasp all that your program does.Your Program seems to be the only one I have seen that is Directed towards Multiplayer gaming.

But again I must say that I am not completely sure of all features of any of the mods,so again excuse my ignorance.

Thanks again

Sgt Lonewolf,

More dynamic enitity types existed by default in Multiplayer in earlier versions of FPSC. e.g. health (heal) zone, teleporters and more.

I actually still have a Multiplayer level made many years ago which has a spot (floor well) which contained a Heal Zone which unfortunately no longer does so, but the floor feature still remains.

Support for dynamic entity types was reduced for reasons of performance I beleive was the official line, apart from other uncategorised reasons which cannot be listed here.

Thank you uman that is a great help in understanding why it has been limited, but in the same turn makes me curious about the uncategorized reasons...lol but I must accept things for what they are. So my next questions must be these.Has anyone heard (and i mean fact not rumor)if they are going to begin looking into the multi play aspect as far as expanding upon it more in the future (meaning with updates or releasing another version: example: FPSC Arena version or multi player version)
And does the X10 version offer more capabilities as far as multi player ,
And can anyone give me an honest opinion about the advantages and disadvantages of X10 Vs. X9?
I had seen that you get more control over the visuals in X10,Is there any thing else too? and are the controls good and user friendly?

thanks again for everyone who has been so kind in helping a noob out.
