This is probably a stupid question but, what program do you use to make cut scenes. Like edit a movie to be able to add effects?

I don't mean to be unhelpful but do a search on this board only -- use search criteria: cut scene -- and you will get more than a half dozen results.

Edit:

I edited search criteria from "cut scenes" to "cut scene" You get more results when not using a plural noun.

I didn't bother giving url's because there are several.

Who the hell is General Failure? And why is he trying to read my hard disk?

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.

No, he's saying the Vista/7 version of Windows Movie Maker sucks...and quite rightly, too. I had to download the old version when I realised how bad it was.

yeah, starting with vista/windows 7 they want you to use the "windows live movie maker" which is so dumbed down that it's unusable for anything more ambitious than an automated slideshow with random effects

Fortunately there are 32- and 64-bit of the good old WMM

I use FRAPS to record the game play, and I use Windows Movie Maker (Vista Version) for the editing.

I have effects plugins for the WMM that allow for special effects like chromakeying with green or blue screens.

You can do a lot with WMM; you just have to add to its basic functionality.

Check out Rehan's Movie Maker Corner for some cool effects for various version of Windows Movie Maker (WMM).

The ShaderTFX package he has for Vista version is essential for my chromakeying. (green/blue screening)

I just downloaded Fraps again. The last time I tried it was almost 2 years ago. They have improved it tremendously. The first time I tried it which was over two years ago, I couldn't get the sound to record. Then the last time the sound was recording but it was a real crappy frame rate. However, this new version works extremely well. I can actually get the 58 fps that my game is providing and the sound is recorded even with Windows 7.

I had purchased guncam within the last year and although it was OK I think I like fraps better. Besides I lost my registration key for guncam when I made the switch from my laptop to my new desktop and guncam was no help with sending it to me (I did register) therefore I have to either get a free one -- I did try wegame but it didn't work for me right out of the box -- or get fraps.
