I've had a lot of criticism for previous patches and bugs and debugging still kinda sucks, but I just made an old west town in Cshop and used polygon collision to walk around in it as an .x model and I'm getting like 70+fps on my older work computer with full sliding and a little bit of physics too (you can slide down ramps with gravity etc)

I love this language when it works. It's super intuitive and seems to have just the commands I need. Plus it's so much faster now. If you're having a hard time, stick with it.

Yes, it is very good - and will be better when the actual compiler system is improved.

I second all that. I think DB Pro is excellent.

Also, its caused me to re-learn all my old trig and 3d maths routines. A welcome intellectual diversion from my day job!

Dark Basic Classic was practically revolutionary when it first came out. I remember the reason i first got the internet was to download the demo. And i think Dark Basic Pro's a worthy successor. -divW

Its just a matter of removing the bugs and improving efficiency now really... And adding a decent BSP and world system...

DBP is my first programming language, and I think it's safe to say it's my favorite.(I did do a little C++, and VB, before DBP, yet I really never programmed anything.)

Here here! First DB and now DBPro have given me the inspiration to learn how to program. I can't say I've been caught out by a bug yet, and can't get over the fact that new commands are still being added (pick object, save image and so on).

I'll bear a few bugs when the updates are so good!

since we all are in a love fest i'd thought i'd jump in and join along (-:

it may not be the best for some but its enable me to learn some programming and given me 100's of hours of fun, saved me a ton of money (because I haven’t been buying new games)

plus its gonna let me win a neat green computer (-:
(I'm ready for the flamin)

It's ok to hate pro. It's caused a lot of frustration and patch 4 actually ate my dog. It's gettin' better though.

Hopefully P6 will allow everyone to test it again (I think it was rather successful) - its the ideal way of sorting out bugs.

I think DBPro is awesome as well. Not bad for only 2 programmers. Its not easy working on a full on language thats this advanced.

Upgrade 6 will be sweet for bug fixes as Lee now knows most of the bugs left with the forum, but also due to long overdue features making it a lot easier to build your own world editors which are fully featured.
