Hi!

I would be happy if someone explains the following functions to me. (FPSC Setup/Buildsetup.ini)

lightmapmaxsize=-1
lightmapboost=4
lightmapthreadmax=-1

QV03> Sometimes when I am lightmapping a large level, I get the process freezing during the calculation?
QV03> There may be some systems that conflict with the implementation of multithreading used by the lightmapper. Set the 'lightmapthreadmax=-2' in the SETUP.INI file to deactivate threading.

I found that...

Here they are (all credit to Nickydude, found it in an old thread )

lightmapmaxsize=set the curved surface quality setting for the light mapping process (default is -1)

lightmapboost=set the curved surface quality setting for the light mapping process (default is 4)

lightmapthreadmax=set the number of CPU threads to use during the lightmapping process (default is -1 which specifies ALL available threads) (-2=single threaded)

I would love to know a good setting for curved surface quality ones, as the lightmapper can really make your models look poop on any curvature. Making once clean smoothing look akin to flat shaded

Your signature has been erased by a mod. The sig needs to be 600 width maximum (x 120 height) for all of it.

Well I experimented with these two settings and can't really say I noticed any changes?
Admittedly I don't know the accepted value ranges, so just kept going up/down in values.
All in all many highly curved surfaces still look poop after lightmapping
