Ok i've searched this down, and i haven't found anything on it. I finally got the illumination map working on the model, but... It only works without any lights. It's static, and it's files are the proper names. Please, i need help.

There are two illumination shaders. illuminationmap.fx and illuminationent.fx. I haven't worked with these in quite awhile, but if I recall, one of these two shaders are specifically for dynamic entites, and the other one is for static objects. Whichever one you have applied to your entity now, try using the other one and see if that fixes the problem.

illuminationmap.fx is used for static entities, illuminationent.fx is for dynamic. I normally have static entities with illumination maps, because dynamic entites just glow all over, but thats just me.

I use illuminationent.fx along with a MyEntity_I.xxx texture for static entities without a problem.

Your signature has been erased by a mod. The sig needs to be 600 width maximum (x 120 height) for all of it.

I'm useing the illumination map which is the proper 1, but when I go to add static lights to make it look like it's giving off light, well everything messes up on the light.

Try using illuminationent.fx instead, and keep the entitiy Static, not Dynamic. I always have problems with custom models/shaders and illuminationmap.

But then won't it illuminate the entire entity?

It illuminates whatever your _I texture tells it too, so if you black out everything except the light bulb part, only that part will glow.

Exactly, if your entity is set to Dynamic and illuminationent is applied to it, then it will glow. But so long it remains Static, it'll be fine (as long as you're using texture_D2.xxx as your main texture and texture_I.xxx as your illumination texture).
