I loaded the alien model as object 1
then loaded a gun as object 3
then tried to glue the gun to the alien's right hand using

and

(I wasn't sure which object was which in the syntax of this command)
but for both of them it gave me an error: "Object does not exist at line x"
What am I doing wrong?

That's because the numbers in the wrong order. Put in
and it should work fine.

Current projects:
Adventure game for alienware comp (-2% complete: yes, I'm going backwards)
Untitled 2d racing/fighting game (approx. 4% complete)

Use the syntax in the help files, not on the status line of the editor. It's wrong in the editor.

Thanks. Now it works fine.
But it seems the editor, help files and reference manual are all wrong. Was the syntax changed with a new patch or something?

This is my help file, Alienware demo version...

GLUE OBJECT TO LIMB
This command will attach the specified 3D object to a limb of another 3D object. By attaching an object to
the limb of another, the objects position, rotation and scale are entirely controlled by the limb. This
technique can be used to allow a robot arm to easily grab and lift an item, or allow your hero character to
hold and wear a variety of items. The parameters should be specified using integer values.

SYNTAX
GLUE OBJECT TO LIMB Object Number, Second Object, Limb Number

Why glue objects why not just edit the actual character!!! place a gun and animate it?

I'm a programmer. I don't know the first thing about 3d modelling. Apart from the a couple of objects I start off with, the game will be made entirely of cubes spheres and plains.
Anyhoo, after gluing the object and writing all the code for firing the gun, I've decided it doesn't look all that great and I don't think I'll use the gun at all.
