Are there any ways I could make an internet connection between me and somebody else? My friend and I just want a simple 2 player fps game that we can play together, but I have no idea how to set it up.

Can anyone help? I prefer to stay away from Darknet, because I don't have the money for it. I just need the internet connection between the 2 of us to be decent, nothing amazing. Thanks for all help, I'm a total noob with multi player programming >_>

There are a couple free ones, too, but Darkbasic does have built in multiplayer commands that would work fine for a simple game. Just checkout the help files.

If you're doing it all yourself, check out MultiSync. It's free and has a lot of the functionality of DarkNet.

If you want to jump in to making an FPS, check out FPS Creator. It's basically drag and drop FPS creation, but there's a lot more beyond that you can do with it.

If it's just for 2 friends to play though, Multisync is just as good, and it's free.

Havent seen any posts by him in along time..

I would like to have MSync with UDP and TCP connections, that would be awesome!

on-topic:
I would suggest you to go with Multisync

Keep it simple.

@Dark Dragon, check the first post again. Just 2 players is what he was asking about. I'm not dissin' MSync I used it for quite a while before switching to DarkNet. No complaints about it from me.
