Hey guys,
I was just wondering, am I allowed to make a website where users can post their custom made game media, show off there WIP games and their final products?

Do I have the "rights" to do this?

Please answer!

Cheers,
Jared.

Oops, sorry did I forget anybody else? It's not so much that I forgot, it's just that Blackfox hosts my mod and xpolsys has a link to FPI EditPad that I made as well as featured it at one point.

JaredxD, looking forward to looking

. . .

at your website.

If you can speak Italian. I use FireFox but does Google Chrome have a translator for their browser? Or does FireFox?

Hey JaredxD, nice looking for a "substitue."

Me (pwp-games.com) But my websiıte was long forgotten It's ok though - plus I don't want people to start shouting out their websites like 'mine is FPSCRULEZ.webs.com!!!!1!!1'. I thınk real websites actually have an uninterrupted yourname.com domain name. But that's just me and that was really off-topic

EDIT:

Jared, I checked out your site and it actually surprised me... Pretty nice work and I'd say you have the right idea and a good start... Now if I may make some suggestions for your site:

Although the blood and bulletholes theme is pretty eye catching, sometimes certain websites should be more on the less violent side It's just a matter of what some people accept and what some don't As for the forums, you're going to want a few more boards before you can expect users to feel like they have 'forum freedom' (a term I use - basically means users can have a large choice of boards and topics to post in). Finally, I know you have a lot of media you've published to these forums - but if you publish them on your forums or even better a new download page on your site, that really catches attention - especially for a media site. However, I'm guessing since your website is free it won't allow the hosting of downloads.

And a side note - even though I was complaining above this edit on how lots of users create bland xxxx.abcdehosting.fghjhosting.com sites, you don't necessarilly have to have a fully hosted yourname.com website to get users - your site just has to be damn good

Good luck with your site! I'll consider joining the forums when I'm back from vacation

-PwP2-

EDIT 2:

I noticed you've created a new thread about this... I'd recommend you don't tell people to join the forums - it makes you look like you're trying to redirect people from here to your site. Instead you should just say 'Check out the site! Give me feedback and see what you like.' That way people browse your site, then get accustomed to it, then find the forums and join. But even if you do that, don't expect a ton of users to join - the TGC forums are like their home

@pwp
thank you so much for the suggestions, they really have helped me
-banner: I shall change it to a different one ASAP, It just didn't let me upload my own design, I'll just change it to another stock one
-Domain name: i would change it to a custom .com or .tk domain, I just haven't figured out how to apply it yet

I am sorry about trying to get people to join the forums, it wasn't my intensions to get people to 'transfer' from these forums to mine.

As for more boards in the forums, that will be done by tomorrow =]

thanks again for the suggestions and ideas, I will definetely work on it all.

But like I said, I am currently doing my best to make my own fully scripted by me website with more features than this.

Edit: as for posting media, there us a board for thatin the forum, as you guessed right, I can't make a download page ATM

No prob, love to give out criticism. As for 'transfering' people from one site to another, I wasn't blaming you for doing that - it was a warning that some people might accuse you for trying to do that That's what some people did to me when I announced my site anyways.

You're going to have to pay for hosting a domain name. Most plans charge by year or months. I have a plan with a company called 'JustHost' who provide excellent hosting - http://www.justhost.com/ Their plans are some of the cheapest and have been looked upon as the best around (voted best web hosting in 2008 or 09). However, the choice is entirely up to you and I hope your website excels

Alright, yes I know about .TK websites. I thought you meant a full 'official' .COM website. But still good.
