Both programs will work fine. Though, if you already have a license to 3DS Max, and you're more familar with it than you are with Blender, then there's really no reason to not use it. And, FPS Creator uses .x files.

Just out of curiousity, where did you purchase your license to Max, and if you don't mind me asking, how much was it going for? I've been doing some price comparisons over the last couple of weeks just for the heck of it, and wouldn't mind having the extra source.

Max is much more better. It's easier to use and learn.

Kravenwolf,
Go to Autodesk's web site and click purchase. You can then see all resellers and search by zip if you wanted someone local. At work (in Ohio) we go through "Imaginit" and in the past we have used "MESA". Both have great customer service. If you have never used it before see if you can get them to toss in free installation and they will set up the file structure for you. Saves a lot of time in the long run. Imaginit did our Inventor at work and taught us all the things we where doing wrong and saved us a ton of file loading times.

This is biased.

There is no 'better' modeling program, the best one is the one that you like the most.

I would disagree. I have used several 3D modelling programs in my duration and found MAX to have more features than some of the others - as is reflected in the price.

Thing is you do not nessissarily need to use, or will ever use half of the features MAX has. I been using 3D MAX since R2(13ish years ago) and I still keep finding new techniques and tools I never knew about that were put in several releases ago.

Of course some programs make it easier to do certain things which, if thats what you use the package for, would be 'better' for you personally.

Its a gray area. MAX is one of the best packages out there insofar that it can do everything the others can do and more... it just costs alot more and will take you longer to learn it inside out.

In responce to the earlier question, you can download a free X file exporter for 3D Studio MAX called Panda Exporter. The X files produced by this tool work in FPSC.

PC Specifications : AMD Phemon Quad Core 2.2Ghz. Windows Vista Home Premium. 2GB DDR2 RAM. Cheapest X10 Card on the Market.

TGC Store Tag : Kasseyus (need to make a graphical sig one day)
