hello I was wondering (for those who work with ac3d) if it is possible to add animation to a 3d object file (.x) using ac3d. Or would I need to get a different software to do that? Thank you in advance!

With certain plugins, you can pull off animation with AC3D. One plugin is this one. It was meant for X-Plane, but I think you might be able to use it for other purposes. However, the process you have to go through with that plugin is quite complex. There's a program called FragMotion. It's quite widely known and used. There's an unlimited free version as well.

To get AC3D models into FragMotion, export your model from AC3D as a .3DS, .OBJ, or any other format FragMotion can accept. Then from FragMotion, you can rig the model, animate it, and finally re-export it for use in whatever else.

I highly recommend using FragMotion instead of an internal AC3D plugin. You can also model in FragMotion if you wish, but it is less powerful.
