I have a game written using Dbpro version 75 beta 16. The program runs fine on my computer using xppro service pack 3 (running directx9 August 2007) but will not run as an exe on a computer running windows version 7 using directx10.
The windows 7 computer reports that it cannot run the exe because of a missing dll (d3dx9_31.dll).
A search of the windows 7 computer does not find this dll but does have d3dx9_32.dll. If I install a copy of the dll from the xp system to the folder windows\system32 folder it does not run. if I install the missing dll in the windows\system 64 folder on the windows 7 computer the program will run.
Question: why should I have to mess with this dll on any other computer?. I can not expect a client to fuss with this problem.

I think we need a STICKY with all the common error messages on it, and what steps need to be taken to resolve them.
