Here is another tutorial from yours truly...

This one is about creating a ceiling/wall texture. The texture we are making is perfect for office/kitchen ceilings. Have fun...

1)Create a new image- 500x500

2)Change the foreground color to- #ffffeb

3)Fill the image with the color

4)Add a new transparent layer over the background layer.

5)Filters>Noise>RGB Noise (Filters>Noise>Noisify on older versions)
Values ahown below-

6)Select the Noise layer

7)Colors>Desaturate

8)Now select the Background layer

9)Filters>Map>Bump map (noise layer is the layer being bumped)
Values shown below-

10)Now delete the Noise layer

Final Result-

And there you have it, a perfect ceiling texture.
Feel free to play around with the Bump map values, and to set them to your liking

Please leave C&C and tell me if you liked it or if I need to change something...

Thanks,
Anayar

Very nice!!! Another great tutorial.

Suggestion
When I gave you that Russian Sign the back of the sign was metal and had plants and creepy stuff on it. Could you show us how to do that with gimp-2 please
,Thanks

But I would like to see more then noise on a image.
This isnt very hard, and doesnt look really like a ceiling texture.

Anyway, I hope u understand me, and try to make some other tuts, greets,
