Good place to start might be to join in with the space invaders challenge that is running at the moment this is because you will be able to easily compare your effort with methods used by more experienced users and look at ways that you can improve yours

Just a suggestion and if you do get stuck reply on this and people will help you out + space invaders isnt too complex anyway

If you do try space invaders don't worry about compressing your code until you are completely finished as it gets unreadable after it's compressed. Trust me.

I saved an uncompressed version seperately for my entry and I've posted the uncompressed version there too (if you need any hints/ideas how to do certain things).

If you get stuck with whatever you decide to do just post the question (try to put it in the right part of the forums) and someone will always help!
