I am trying to get my associate degree in application development. Couple days ago I actually started taking programming classes for the first time since I had to take care of the general studies first.

My first programming language I am learning is Visual Basic. I also know that DarkBasic Pro is based on VB as well. I want to know how I can employ both languages together to best perform in this class. I am very motivated as you can see and would like to learn as much as I can.

I have the "STYX" plug-in which should allow me to make plugins using VB ... but is there any limitations to what I can or can't do ??

Again this is not me asking "How can I do this?" as much of "Can I do it and what should I focus on?"

DBPro isn't based on VB, they're entirely separate languages. They just have a similar syntax based on BASIC.

IMO, you shouldn't try to use VB and DBPro together unless you have a good reason to. They were not intended to be used together, and you will just be making life difficult for yourself. Yes, it is possible to 'host' a DBPro application on a VB form, but don't bother unless you have a good reason, or at least until you have more experience.

you are right

@Towfieee lol why do you want to implement dbp with vb? it's useless you can do the same things with vb as dbp.

GDK.NET springs to mind.

Assuming you are learning VB.NET and not the older, outdated VB language of yesteryear.
