if you upload a picture as an attachment to a post make sure it's a png.
Use the image button when you make a post to put an image in your post ([img*]http://[/img*] without the *)

you should use the url of the uploaded picture in the img tags
in this case: [img*]http://forum.thegamecreators.com/xt/xt_apollo_pic.php?i=2046109[/img*] (again without the *)
