Well first off I wouldn't rust mcafee for anything, you wan't to get either Avast or AVG. It probally is spam because TGC wouldn't give MP's for free (exept MP36. I reccomend installing avast and doing a full system thorough scan with it because it can detect anything although it can take up to hrs, depending on how much data your Hardrive(s) have on it/them.

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.

If you don't know who it's from, don't even open the mail. I heard of emails, that is you open them, you will get a virus or something alike in your computer. I don't know how it works, but still. If you don't know who it is, and especially if it says you get stuff for free. Maby someone just wants to pass some pirated model packs, or it is a virus something...

How often do you get viruses that you have a regular solution to fixing them? You really need to adjust your browsing habits. It's really very easy to NOT get a virus.

Nope, not always. I mean, viruses can be gotten from even like google or something. Kinda. I mean, if you search "FPS Creator" in google, the second result is a torrent, and most probably has a virus... Then you accidentally click it, and BOOM, you have virus. Well, I get viruses at least once a month... And some are from people, who hack my computer! So... Well. I wouldn't even need to browse internet to get a virus.

...But well.

And about spam... One day I got about 50 emails from people I didn't know, and they all had titles like "Band logo" or something like that, so I opened them... I mean, I make logos and album covers for bands. And then I got spam that had titles like that. And well, there wasn't any viruses, but I got many emails that completely froze my computer, or links to fullscreen non-closable videos of surgeries, images of deformed babies, etc.

And well, I think they tried to shock and disgust me off the internet, or something, lol. But of course they failed since I'm not offended by deformed babies and surgeries, I find them inspirational for making music.

...AGH sorry, I hope this post isn't offtopic... I have the bad habit to post long things and talk like I'd talk to a psychologist...

Sorry.

Same! LOL!

That may be quite true, however, what if that source you know contains illegal downloads?

And this...

...is very true.

Ok, now this thread is turning to spam.

You still opened the e-mail after all of what we told you? Just don't trust e-mails like that again, and you'll be safe. You can delete them safely.

Trust McAfee, even though it is extremely annoying at times, as AVG can frequently misdiagnose useful files as Trojans

I would invest in Zone Alarm Security by CheckPoint: It's never given me trouble finding spyware and has kept my PC clean from virulent files
