Just made a Ammo box tut but when i tried to texturer it in blender messed up so he is a model tut. It is 20 minutes long sorry. But it is good for nwebies at blender.

Triple post FTW!!! Ok first of all, there's no reason to use three posts in a row, just edit our previous post.

And secondly, the gun is pretty good, but very boxy, and it seems like you need to do some more bevels to round areas out, especially the handle. Now here is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen by racer445 http://racer445.com/pages/tutorials/ak-tutorial.php it goes over complete weapon creation.

Oh and also, there are no files in the .zip

now considering he isnt using Photobucket or alike thats perfectly fine you know? as long as he brings updates or such.

and on the gun: all those extrusions on the top and sides is just a waste of polies, i believe the body details on a gun is a lot more important than that.

looks like you definitly need to practice on optimizing the model a bit, you have edge loops all over the place you have chamfered the area AROUND THE TRIGGER, why is that? that area wont ever be seen almost, the model is a total mess, you need to rework it alot. The model, polycounts and edgeflow aside looks quiet ok, but can be optimized a lot for both a better and less messy mesh look

That doesn't mean you can't go back and make it into something that you do like. You might also learn quite a bit about poly reduction and find some handy tools and shortcuts that you would be able to keep in mind for your next projects.

My green thumb grew the tree my Trojan War horse was crafted from. With roses in our pockets we rally round the tombstones. Ashes to ashes, we all fall down.
